Golden hands and hours markers complete the decadence. There is a choice of two dial colors (black or white) with the signature tri-colored sub-dials that make the El Primero chronographs so instantly recognizable. This is opulent sportiness for the wrist. This includes the case, bracelet, bezel, pushers, and crown. For 2022, Zenith has chosen to craft the Chronomaster Sport from solid rose gold. There’s a precedent that even predates the El Primero.
Solid gold chronographs are nothing new to Zenith.
The Chronomaster Sport - Now with extra gold! I think that these new models will not struggle to find approval. By comparison, the aesthetic is a lot softer and, in my opinion, it fits better with the original A386 blueprint. The new models eschew the ceramic bezel in favor of gold bezels. I wasn’t sold one way or another, but I could understand some folks’ internal conflicts. But when Zenith slapped the ceramic bezel onto it, it was a controversial move. The A386 is a timeless model that transcends the vintage/modern classifications. Personally, I felt that the ceramic bezels were the one thing that made the Chronomaster Sport feel so modern compared to the A386. Now Zenith has decided to introduce three new models in two-tone and gold with no ceramic bezels in sight. Then, we had a gold version with a ceramic bezel.
First, we had a steel watch with a ceramic bezel. Zenith itself seems to believe in the collection, too, as evidenced by the new releases we see before us. A few of my friends and acquaintances have picked up the stainless steel version, and the feedback has been very positive. The price is 9,700 euros for the steel case and 19,600 euros for the gold watch.Despite its slightly divisive birth last year, the wider community now seems to have firmly accepted Zenith’s Chronomaster Sport with open arms. The rose gold case is instead worn on a blue calfskin strap with a gold triple-folding clasp. The stainless steel Chronomaster Open appears on a bracelet made of the same material. The movement offers automatic winding and a power autonomy of 60 hours. The purple escape wheel and balance wheel of the El Primero 3604 calibre can also be admired. The iconic coloured counters are also found here, with the Small Seconds on a transparent disc. The scale to read the 1/10 chronograph is on a ring around the dial. Then there is a model in 18-carat rose gold with a matt silver dial.Īll have a smooth bezel and a crown and pushers made of case material. Two models with stainless steel cases featuring a white or black dial will be released. The watch has an opening on the dial and reveals its regulating organ. In addition, there are three new variants of the Chronomaster Open. The Chronomaster Sport Boutique Edition is available exclusively from the company’s own stores. The dial appears silver and is decorated with a sunburst finish – another exclusive feature of the Boutique Edition. The three ceramic elements flow seamlessly into each other, making it easier to distinguish between clearly separated segments. The grey, anthracite and blue thus pick up on the colours of the model-typical coloured counters on the dial. This special variant has a steel case that is paired with a three-coloured bezel. Zenith Chronomaster Sport Boutique Edition The price is 16,700 euros for the S&G model and 37,400 euros for the gold case. The movement can be viewed at work through the case back. The El Primero 3600 calibre powers all the watches and, in addition to the 1/10 chronograph, offers automatic winding and a power reserve of 60 hours. The two-tone version has a silver-coloured dial with a sunburst finish. The pushers and the crown on the side of the case are also made of the same precious metal. The strap also picks up on this colour scheme with central links in rose gold. There is also a model that combines a steel case with a rose gold bezel. The Chronomaster Sport in rose gold is available with either a black lacquered or a matt white dial. The watchmakers engrave the scale for reading the 1/10-second chronograph on the bezel. Two models are made of 18-carat rose gold and the bezel is also made of the same precious metal. In each case, however, the diameter remains at 41 mm. There is also a two-tone version in stainless steel and rose gold. Zenith is launching two versions of the Chronomaster Sport in a rose gold case. In parallel, there are three new versions of the Chronomaster Open, which showcase the mechanism inside through an opening on the dial.
