As the average person generally has a level cap in the single digits, someone with a level cap in the mid thirties is considered comparable to an elite soldier.

Absurdly High Level Cap: A good way of gauging how important someone is in the Rance series is by looking at their level cap.Aborted Arc: Ithere was Spared By Adaptation in Rance 03, but he didn't appear at all in Rance X and a guidebook even stated he died, making the sacrifice of his apostles worthless.Tropes that apply to this company's games:

It's what I love about these games, AliceSoft knows how to design fights like that, push you to the real limit so that you actually have to use ingenuity, strategy and tactics to overcome a challenge. You feel like what Rance feels! People even crazier than me play this game on 5* difficulty no bonuses to get there. But that feeling when you finally stomp that snake! You've done something legendary, you feel like a true hero. Everyone gets wiped by Orochi the first time. "If it bleeds."Įven in Sengoku Rance, there are a ton of other challenges, some far more difficult than Takeda blitz - the blitz is mostly about figuring out which commanders you need against which of the four generals. It just takes strategy, tactics, planning, a lot of perserverance and a fair amount of luck. For example, all of the Darklord fights in Rance X can be cleared on a first playthrough without any new game bonuses, even if many of them seem impossible at first. The later Rance games are all about strategizing so that you can win impossibly difficult battles. It's all about getting the SATISFACTION! (In the literal sense) In my actual playthrough, I declared on turn 20 so that the blitz comes end of turn 25, giving you exactly enough actions to conquer both Yamatai and Tokaido, and have Magic arrive in time to help you defend. Still I found it pretty funny that as soon as you go through Takeda, Kenshin and Souun immediately decide to double DoW you. Of the eight, the two worst ones are Ashikaga and Iga.Īctually I only conquered Takeda by taking provinces cause you have to do it at least once to beat Takeda the other way. Much better return for conquering either Mouri or Takeda, for example. And Ashikaga is one of those special Clans that. All it enables is Isoroku H-Scene, which takes several actions to even get to. However, the ideal turn to declare war on Takeda is turn 20, not turn 19.Ĭonquering Ashikaga is mostly pointless. Kai's Shell dungeon is easily one of the most action efficient source of Satisfaction points and you can defeat Takeda by taking only 3 actions (by beating the blitz) - so it IS correct to fight Takeda ASAP to get to the 4th Action Fan earliest.
